The Music Gladitator Manual
A must read for any artist or label wanting to succeed in the music industry

14 DISTRIBUTORS
“She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.”

The essential difference between an indie and a major label is their distribution outlet and of course their money.
This is because good distribution can increase your chances of selling large amount of CDs. On the other hand,
good distribution with out promotion is a waste of everyone involved time and money. Because for the smart
independent music gladiator, he or she knows to start focusing their resources and efforts locally and regionally.

In other words, having your CD in a store in Mississippi when you live in New York and no one is in Mississippi
promoting your CD is not an intelligent move. Because if no one knows anything about your the CD, how do you
expect people to buy it? I guarantee your CD is not going to sell itself regardless how great the music is.

Remember when you start going for distribution, you should start with small amounts. You don’t want a lot of
returns if you have to pay for the retailers shipping cost sending them back to you.

This following list will give you as an indie artist or new start-up indie label the contact information needed to
expand your chances for success in regards to distribution...
